How to make a QR code for a website
Paste the full address of the page, for example https://yoursite.com/menu.
Style it if you like: colors, a dot pattern, your logo. Keep a dark code on a light background.
Download PNG for screens or SVG for print, then scan the file once before you print.
Tips
- Point the code at a page you control, like yoursite.com/menu. You can change what that page shows at any time without reprinting the code.
- Shorter addresses make a simpler pattern that scans from further away.
- Size it for the distance: at least 2 × 2 cm on a business card, 3–5 cm on a flyer, and about one tenth of the reading distance on posters (read from 2 m away, make it 20 cm wide).
- Add a short line next to the code that says what happens, like “Scan for the menu”. People scan more when they know where it leads.
Common mistakes
- Linking through a short-link service you don't own. If it closes or starts charging, every printed code breaks.
- A typo in the address. Open the link from the downloaded file before you print hundreds of copies.
- Printing on glossy or curved surfaces where a reflection hides part of the pattern.
Why our codes never stop working
Many QR sites make dynamic codes. They point to the site's own short link, which then forwards to you. When the free trial ends, the link is switched off and every printed code stops working.
QRink makes static codes. Your link, Wi-Fi password or contact details are written directly into the pattern. There is no middleman, no account and no expiry date. A static code printed today will still scan in twenty years.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. The site is paid for by ads.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. They are static codes, so the content lives in the image itself. They work as long as the image can be scanned.
Can I use the codes commercially?
Yes. Print them on menus, flyers, packaging, business cards or signs. You don't need to credit us.
Can I change where a code points after printing?
No. A static code can't be edited after it is made. If the content changes, create a new code. Tip: point the code to a page on your own website that you can update.
Which format should I download?
PNG works everywhere on screens and in documents. SVG stays sharp at any size, so use it for print, signs and design programs.
Why doesn't my code scan?
The usual causes are low contrast, a light code on a dark background, a logo that is too large, or printing it too small. Keep it at least 2 × 2 cm and test it before printing.
