Ideas for your code

How to make an SMS QR code

  1. Enter the number that should receive the messages, with the country code.

  2. Write the message people will send, like “JOIN” or “Table 4 needs help”.

  3. Scan it once: the messages app should open with the number and text filled in.

Tips

  • Works on every phone with no app or data connection, which makes it a good fit for older audiences.
  • Use it for sign-ups, votes, appointment requests or calling staff to a table.
  • Put a different message on each poster to see which one works best.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting that the sender pays normal SMS rates. Mention it if your number is international.
  • A long message. Short keywords are easier to read and to handle.
  • Leaving out the country code.

Why our codes never stop working

Many QR sites make dynamic codes. They point to the site's own short link, which then forwards to you. When the free trial ends, the link is switched off and every printed code stops working.

QRink makes static codes. Your link, Wi-Fi password or contact details are written directly into the pattern. There is no middleman, no account and no expiry date. A static code printed today will still scan in twenty years.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. The site is paid for by ads.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes, so the content lives in the image itself. They work as long as the image can be scanned.

Can I use the codes commercially?

Yes. Print them on menus, flyers, packaging, business cards or signs. You don't need to credit us.

Can I change where a code points after printing?

No. A static code can't be edited after it is made. If the content changes, create a new code. Tip: point the code to a page on your own website that you can update.

Which format should I download?

PNG works everywhere on screens and in documents. SVG stays sharp at any size, so use it for print, signs and design programs.

Why doesn't my code scan?

The usual causes are low contrast, a light code on a dark background, a logo that is too large, or printing it too small. Keep it at least 2 × 2 cm and test it before printing.
