Ideas for your code

How to make a WhatsApp QR code

  1. Enter your WhatsApp number with the country code. Spaces and dashes are fine.

  2. Add an optional first message, like “Hi, I'd like to book a table”. It saves people typing and tells you where they found you.

  3. Scan it once: WhatsApp should open a new chat with your number.

Tips

  • Great for shop windows, packaging, delivery bags and table cards: people can ask a question without looking up your number.
  • Use a different first message on each flyer or location, like “Hi, I saw your poster”, to see which one brings in chats.
  • WhatsApp Business numbers work exactly the same way.
  • Make it at least 3 × 3 cm on flyers, and bigger on windows that people read from a few steps away.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving out the country code. The chat link then fails for most people.
  • Using a number that isn't registered on WhatsApp.
  • A long pre-filled message. It makes the code denser, and one sentence is enough.

Why our codes never stop working

Many QR sites make dynamic codes. They point to the site's own short link, which then forwards to you. When the free trial ends, the link is switched off and every printed code stops working.

QRink makes static codes. Your link, Wi-Fi password or contact details are written directly into the pattern. There is no middleman, no account and no expiry date. A static code printed today will still scan in twenty years.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. The site is paid for by ads.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes, so the content lives in the image itself. They work as long as the image can be scanned.

Can I use the codes commercially?

Yes. Print them on menus, flyers, packaging, business cards or signs. You don't need to credit us.

Can I change where a code points after printing?

No. A static code can't be edited after it is made. If the content changes, create a new code. Tip: point the code to a page on your own website that you can update.

Which format should I download?

PNG works everywhere on screens and in documents. SVG stays sharp at any size, so use it for print, signs and design programs.

Why doesn't my code scan?

The usual causes are low contrast, a light code on a dark background, a logo that is too large, or printing it too small. Keep it at least 2 × 2 cm and test it before printing.
